Nellore: With only 24 hours left for the opening of the Rs 30 Cr estimated Necklace Road at Nellore by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, Mayor SK Abdul Aziz and NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy have been personally supervising works of the road on the banks of Nellore tank.
They have deployed workforce of some major contractors to expedite the works after noticing the snail pace of progress.
“Initially, we had planned to complete the Necklace Road works by the end of February and inaugurate the facility. However, we have advanced the exercise after coming to know about Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu to Nellore.
We are keen on opening this with his hands because he was instrumental in including Nellore civic body under Amrut Scheme when he was union minister for urban development” Mr Narayana said. Meanwhile, the V-P will reach Nellore by special train from Renigunta.
