Chennai: A 21-year-old college student died hit by the ball on his chest while playing cricket at Adhanoor in Guduvanchery on Monday evening.
According to the police, R. Srinivasan of Mulakalani in Guduvanchery, was studying in final year B. Com in a private college at Sriperumbudur. Police said, “Around 5 pm on Monday evening, he was playing cricket with his friends near Madapakkam.”
“When Srinivasan was batting, the cricket ball hit his chest and he collapsed,” said a police officer. His friends rushed him to a private hospital nearby but he succumbed to the injury.
Doctors said the ball had hit a sensitive area and saving him had become difficult. His body was sent to Chengalpattu government hospital for post mortem. The Guduvanchery police have registered a case.
