Anantapur: Congress begins Pratyeka Hoda Bharosa Praja Yatra

AP in charge Oomene Chandi reiterated Rahul Gandhi will put signature on Special category status file.

Anatapur: APCC on Tuesday launched the Pratyeka Hoda Bharosa Praja Yatra from Madakasira on the Karnataka borders in Anatapur district to reach Ichapuram of Odisha border.

Karnataka Deputy CM Parameshwara, minister D.K. Shivakumar, Andhra Pradesh Congress in-charge Oommen Chandy flagged off the bus from Nelakantapuram village in Madakasira mandal in the district. APCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy is leading the yatra that will cover a total of 2,251 km and conclude at Srikakulam on March 3.

While the BJP-led NDA ignored the accordance of special category status as part of post-bifurcation package to the state, Congress wants to expose the lapses and has given assurance to put its first signature on the issue if elected to power.

AICC president Rahul Gandhi will participate in the yatra at Tirupati on February 22 while AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will be joining it on February 27.

Karnataka deputy chief minister said Congress was firm on every promise. “Our party had never back stepped over any promise towards people issues. BJP cheated AP people”, Parameswar said. and added AP would have bright future after Congress voted to power.
