Bengaluru: Two accidental fire incidents destroy assets worth Rs 20 lakh
Bengaluru: Two accidental fire mishaps were reported in Yeshwantpur and Hennur police station limits since Monday morning. Fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the flames. No casualties were reported but the estimated loss is Rs 20 lakh.
An accidental fire broke out at a scrap godown and spread to three neighbouring sheds in Mohan Kumar Nagar in Yeshwantpur police station limits on Monday morning. The fire created panic among residents of surrounding areas. No casualties were reported but the sheds and two trees were damaged.
According to the police, the incident took place around 8 am on Monday morning. Five fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the blaze within hours. The godown belonged to Kashi and Thambi.
The reason behind the fire is being investigated with an estimated loss of Rs. 6 lakh reported.
In another incident, a fire broke out at a godown near the Holy Church in Hennur Bande Sunday evening. Two fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The godown belongs to a Tamil Nadu based businessman, Pandiyan. Many interior designing machines which were stored inside the godown were completely damaged. The police suspect that a short circuit could be the reason behind the accident. There were no casualties but an estimated loss of Rs. 15 lakh has been reported.
