BBMP to seek special allocation for city development in the state budget

BBMP will place the budget in the last week of March and expects a special allocation.

Bengaluru: The BBMP will urge Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to make a special allocation for the Palike in the state budget scheduled on March 18, said Taxation and Finance committee Chairman M. Shivaraju.

He said that the BBMP will place the budget in the last week of March and expects a special allocation for the city’s development in the state budget. A delegation to the chief minister will be taken under the leadership of Mayor B.N. Manjunath Reddy, he said.

The committee will emphasise on a realistic budget and already, officials have submitted a draft budget to the committee with an outlay of Rs 7,000 crore. The stress will on ward-level works, which will have enhanced allocation of funds, he said. The BBMP will look forward to budgetary allocations from the central and state governments for the development of city’s infrastructure, Mr Shivaraju said.
