Thiruvananthapuram: Reliance Foundation Jr NBA Skill Challenge Contest will start at the greenfield stadium near Kariavattom University campus at 8:30 am on Monday.
The competition is a mini basketball skills challenge for children of U-12, U14 and U16 years. This is the last one in the state out of the three events after Kottayam and Kozhikode.
Children introduced by NBA coaches five basic basketball skills: passing, dribbling, shooting, footwork, and game play. The camp will be led by Sarah Gaylor, coach from USA, and Carla Palomo from Spain. Participants in multiple basketball-based skill challenges will acquire points/scores while each player will receive an individual score card for the performance in each of the challenges. The best 24 will be awarded merit certificates and NBA t-shirts.
