Ganta Srinivasa Rao lays stones for a slew of projects in city
Visakhapatnam: Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Saturday laid the foundation stones for several development projects in the city.
The works include road construction from SOS Junction to Polamamba Temple at an estimated cost of Rs 194 crore, road widening project worth Rs 191 crore and building a culvert with Rs 94 crore.
The minister also laid the foundation stone for the restoration works of Potti Sriramulu Park in Bheemili at an estimated budget of Rs 32 crore. On the same day, district collector and GVMC special officer Pravin Kumar inaugurated Buddha Square Park, which was developed by the civic body at a cost of Rs 25 lakh for the Buddha statue and greenery.
GVMC commissioner M. Harinarayanan felicitated the collector as he has been transferred to West Godavari district after serving for the past six years in Visakhapatnam district in various capacities, including joint collector and municipal commissioner.
West Godavari district collector Katamneni Bhaskar will assume charge as the new collector for Vizag.
