Sreejith's friend roughened up by Youth Congress activists
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anderson Edward, a young friend of Sreejith, who asked some uncomfortable questions to Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala a few days ago, was roughed up by Youth Congress workers in front of the secretariat on Friday. As per the Cantonment police, Edward was walking in front of Statue hotel when some Youth Congress workers were dispersing after a rally there. A woman worker identified him and yelled that this was the man who insulted Mr Chennithala. Though Edward ran towards the policemen in the area, he was beaten up.
The police registered a case against unidentified Youth Congress workers. Medical College Hospital officials said that his condition was stable. The video of Mr Chennithala facing tough questions from the youth at the venue of Sreejith's hunger strike had gone viral. When Mr Chennithala visited Sreejith offering legal help, Edward reminded the Congress leader that he was the home minister when the custodial death happened.
