Kerala High Court castigates Jacob Thomas on Pattoor land probe
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has castigated former vigilance director Jacob Thomas in connection with the probe into the Pattoor land case. Coming down heavily on the probe conducted by the vigilance in the case the court has observed that Jacob Thomas has presented hearsays as facts. It ordered that the records of the quick verification report should be submitted to the court on Wednesday. The High Court pointed out that a reading of the report submitted by Mr Thomas gives the impression that other than him everyone else is corrupt.
The court has also castigated the vigilance for not presenting the documents connected with the land transactions. The case is connected with the shifting of the sewage pipeline of the Kerala Water Authority to help a private builder leading to a loss of 12.5 cents of the government land at Pattoor in Thiruvananthapuram. Mr Thomas who probed the case has submitted a report stating that malpractices took place in the land deal. However, the High Court was unable to unearth any malpractices when it examined the report.
The court then asked Mr Thomas to appear in person in the court and provide the necessary explanation.
