Hyderabad: 2 arrested with 5.5 kg ganja
Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, in a joint operation with the Langer Houz police, arrested two persons on Thursday for selling ganja.
A total of 5.5 kg of ganja, a motorcycle and three cellphones were recovered from them.
The duo was also carrying cash of Rs 8,000 that they got for selling a few sachets of ganja.
Police said the accused Puligortha Krishna Chary, alias Amar, is from Dhoolpet. He ran a dosa stall adjacent to Niloufer hospital. He was also involved in several cases, they said.
Amar, a ganja addict, met a stranger at Jummerat Bazaar at a liquor shop who lured him into selling ganja.
In a bid to make money, Amar purchased 3 kg of ganja for Rs 15,000, packed them into sachets of 40 grams each and sold them at Rs 500 apiece.
Amar later befriended a labourer, P. Satish of Rajendranagar, and together started selling ganja to addicts, police said.
The arrests were made under the supervision of deputy commissioner of police B.Limba Reddy.
