Benglauru: Traffic cop deployed for Governor convoy dies
Bengaluru: The 35-year-old traffic police constable, who was injured after being knocked down by a bike while clearing way for Governor’s convoy, succumbed at a private hospital on Thursday afternoon.
Ramesh, who hailed from Koratagere in Tumakuru district, was posted at Yalahanka traffic police station. On Saturday evening, he was posted at on the international airport road in Yalahanka traffic police station limits.
He was clearing the way for easy passage of Governor’s convoy that was coming to the city from the airport. He was knocked down by a biker and was hospitalised with multiple injuries.
“He passed away on Thursday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and two sons. He was due for promotion and two days after the incident, he was promoted to the rank of Head Constable,” an official said.
The biker, who knocked down the policeman, is also undergoing treatment in ICU, the police added.
