Hyderabad: The Achampet police detained several BRS leaders including former MLA Guvvala Balaraju as a preventive measure when they tried to disrupt a Congress meeting being held at Achampet on Monday.
Following this, BRS leaders and activists staged a protest in front of the police station. All the detainees were released later.
BRS leaders alleged that the Congress leaders had influenced the police to suppress the Opposition leaders and cadre.
