BJP slams TRS, Congress for anti-CAA stand
Hyderabad: BJP state president Dr K. Laxman has charged that the Congress, TMC and TRS are spreading venomous disinformation about Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Dr Laxman alleged that they all were trying to create fear among Muslims in the name of CAA. He clarified that the Act is to protect minorities, who took refuge unable to withstand hounding in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
He said that the repeated assurances given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that CAA neither takes away rights of any Indian nor is against Indian Muslims, the Congress party is trying to foment violence for its political gains.
He wanted to know from TRS if wants Indian citizenship to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The BJP leader condemned the decision of TRS government to oppose CAA in Parliament when the Bill is not against Indian citizens. As many as 15, 000 illegal immigrants are taking shelter in Hyderabad in the name of refugees and their presence is surfacing whenever terror incidents take place in the country. They have to leave from Hyderabad, he averred. Dr Laxman said the BJP would launch an awareness programme across the state against the disinformation campaigns by the Oppostion parties.
The party would also organise meetings with intellectuals and educationists highlighting the importance of CAA and allay the fears of Muslims.
