BBMP Corporator's son held for giving supari to kill rowdy
Bengaluru: The Adugudi police on Monday arrested the son of BBMP corporator from Hombegowda Nagar in connection with the murder of a rowdy, Vijay Kumar alias Cable Viji.
Sooraj, son of Corporator Chandrappa D., is learnt to have given the supari to kill Vijay (38), who was murdered by a gang of six to seven in his office in Lakkasandra on December 4.
The gang had entered his office and threw chilli powder on his face before hacking him to death. Sooraj reportedly gave the contract to Shafi to kill Vijay, who refused to return the money lent by Sooraj long time ago.
A case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code had been registered and teams formed to nab the killers. The police are yet to arrest Shafi and others who carried out the murder.
Vijay was arrested in 2017 after Kadabagere Srinivas, the APMC president, was shot at in broad daylight near Kogilu Cross. He was arrested for criminal intimidation of Srinivas' associate, a businessman named Tata Ramesh.
