Some departments can work from Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Government
Hyderabad: The AP Government has exempted 14 departments and institutions from moving out of Hyderabad to Amaravati. The government earlier issued orders to stop salary disbursal from September 2017 to staff working in Hyderabad. But the Pay and Accounts department had sent a proposal seeking exemption for some departments and institutions so as to avoid the salary problem that staff in Hyderabad would face. Based on this came the exemption, though with a timeframe for some. The offices of the Advocate-General of AP and Public Prosecutor, AP State Legal Services Authority and the Government Pleaders would continue to function in Hyderabad till the High Court is shifted to Amaravati.
The AP Public Service Commission and the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings of AP would continue to function in Hyderabad for three months till February 28, 2018, or till the completion of the interiors in the new building. Other establishments that had been given the three-month period were the Central Secretariat Library or on completion of record digitization, AP State Election Commission and the State Archives department under Higher Education.
The State Reorganisation Department and the election sections of the General Administration department would move after the bifurcation and reorganisation issues were settled. The Director of NCC would have to wait till bifurcation was over. The AP Administrative Tribunal was allowed to continue on its present premises till a decision was taken on the basis of an earlier proposal for its abolition. An arm of Pay and Accounts Office would remain in Hyderabad till all offices of AP are shifted to Amaravati.
