Non-teaching Kakatiya University staff strikes
Warangal: Non-teaching staff members from Kakatiya University in Warangal who have been protesting against the failure of the administration to fulfil their demands called for a university bandh on Monday. NGOs association president Narayana Rao said members of nine employees unions have been protesting against the negligence of the administration.
The bandh was observed in all the departments in support of the employees.The protesting employees gathered in front of the administrative block and shouted slogans against the university Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna and Registrar K Purushotham. Demands put up by the agitating employees include issuance of health cards to all employees, minimum wages to casual labourers, filling up of backlog posts, promotions to daily wage class IV employees, recognising senior daily wage employees as time-scale employees, regularising time-scale employees and clearing their PRC dues, withdrawal of CPS, sanctioning of posts for newly set up departments and colleges. The JAC leaders M. Narayana Rao, Narasimha Murthy, Shaganti Srinivas, B. Chukka Rao, M. Satyanarayana, N. Yellaiah, P. Vishnuvardhan, P. Ashok Babu, Ch Prabhakar and others were present at the event.
