Hanamkonda school bags big honour
Warangal: The British Council, London, which aims at nurturing the spirit of global citizenship among young people and is trying to enrich teaching and learning process, has been accrediting schools with its benchmarking scheme of International School Award (ISA).
As part of this, Hanamkonda-based Lead India School, Hunter Road, received the prestigious British Council’s ISA award for a period of three years (2017- 2020) at a ceremony held in Chennai at Taj Coromandel. The award was received by the school correspondent Challa Raghunath Reddy in the august gathering of eminent scholars.
During the ISA journey, Lead India School, under the guidance of the British Council, conducted seven activities with strong international ethos. These included mock United Nations, world of folktales, food across the border, animals of our planet, flags — the identity of nations, great national heroes, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela and festivals of the world.
During the course of ISA activities, the school also collaborated with schools abroad like in Germany, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. In this project, children from classes LKG to 10th participated in all seven activities with a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm.
Later, the school submitted its final documentation (dossier) of around 500 pages with details of activities undertaken around the academic year 2016-17 to the British Council for assessment. In the month of November, the British Council declared the results and Lead India School was one among the winner's list and was the only school to win this prestigious award in Warangal district.
Correspondent Challa Raghunath Reddy appreciated all the student community, ISA coordinator Noori Farhath and the other staff involved in the ISA project. Mr Reddy asserts that the entire ISA experience was a beautiful reminder of the fact that education and knowledge know no boundaries and the world has, in fact, become a global village.
