Police sources said that, Dhashwanth however pleaded not guilty to the accusations and denied threatening him. The trial was postponed to December 27.

Later, he was taken to the Chengalpet Mahila court for trial in the child murder case. The trial happened for over two hours in camera behind closed doors. Of the nine witnesses summoned, three including the child’s parents appear-ed before the magistrate.

The trial has been postponed to Wednesday, when other witnesses are expected to appear. He was taken back to Puzhal amidst heavy police protection.

Dhashwanth was arrested in Mumbai on December 6 in Mumbai for the alleged murder of his mother a week ago. While he managed to flee police custody, he was nabbed again on December 8.
