District collector Dr S. Karthikeyan handed over 500 kg of non-biodegradable waste collected from there to scrap dealer for recycling.

Kollam: It was a new collectorate complex for the visitors of the Kollam district headquarters on Monday. Not even a single bit of litter was found on the green campus, thanks to the commendable effort by the Suchitwa Mission that effectively implemented the green protocol here. District collector Dr S. Karthikeyan handed over some 500 kg of non-biodegradable waste collected from there to scrap dealer for recycling. The employees should maintain the office premises clean as it were their house premises, said Dr Karthikeyan while inaugurating a photo exhibition at the complex.

“We have witnessed a healthy change here. Along with removing the waste, the possibility of recycling it has also been utilised. All should follow such models,” he added.
