Vijayawada: The state government now contemplates bringing in changes in its approach towards the public, especially to those relating to welfare schemes. The remaining one-and-a-half year’s duration of the TD government will be focused on a multi-tasking approach, to reach the masses of every corner of the state, with the help of audio-visual vans, and Kala Jatas having an ample number of artists.
The TD is closely monitoring the praja natya mandali approach, with which the Marxists used to attract the masses in the 80s and the 90s. Perhaps, the CM, on his return from the Maldives will have a day-long session with the party seniors over this campaign strategy, exclusively on the government welfare schemes. The government is planning to deploy multi-purpose vans with digital screens on both sides and a roof-top platform for the instant performance of Jatas at any given point or village, concerning the welfare programmes of the government. Such as, Chandranna Bima, scholarships to the deprived sections, and also the extending of support to the poor in the upper castes trough the Corporations.
The TD chief has already directed the party seniors to identify writers and performers with flair, rhythm and spontaneity, in order to engage them in the public Kala Jata campaigns. “Many artists, writers and performers across the state will be engaged in these campaigns, which runs as a government campaign, which describes the achievements of the government like progress in Polavaram and the completion of Pattiseema,” said a senior TD leader.
Burra Katha teams will be ready by March, 2018, and they will be trained in performing in areas like the Poalavaram project, Chandranna Bima, Pattiseema, BC, SC, ST, Kapu and Brahmin corporations. The scripts will be prepared by the heads of the political colleges, who are well-equipped in a variety of disciplines. All these teams will be sent to various places across the state, along with digital vans and the local tahsildars will take care of the well being of the teams, during their stay and performances in their respective mandals. The government heads have no clarity as to whether Group M will have to be involved in these exercises or not. “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will take a call on this, upon his arrival from the Maldives,” said a bureaucrat and added that these teams would perform the Kala Jatas or Burra Kathas as per the local culture and traditions.
