Telangana polls: RPI submits representation to PM, Prez, CEO seeking ballot polls

Hyderabad: Seeking fair and transparent elections in Telangana, the Republican Party of India (A) submitted representations to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar to re-introduce the ballot paper system in the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana.

The RPI (A) National Secretary P Sivanageswar Goud said the party submitted representation and received the acknowledgment.

In their representation, the RPI leaders said that the Election Commission of India is responsible for safeguarding the democratic system of the country. The only way to preserve the system of democracy is through the right to protect it and vote selflessly through the ballot. There are many problems with electronic voting machines.

"When EVMs are used, there would be some technical glitches. Voters are confused about casting their vote and have a number of doubts about the use and functions of EVMs" the RPI representatives said.
