AP HC Postpones Naidu\'s Anticipatory Bail Petition in Amaravati IRR Case to Nov 7

ACB court adjourned to Oct 20 its decision on the prisoner transit warrant by the CID for Naidu's custody in the Fibernet case

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday postponed the hearing on the anticipatory bail petition filed by Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) case to Nov 7. The court also extended the stay on the PT warrant issued by the ACB court in the same case.

The court adjourned the hearing as the Supreme Court reserved its verdict on Naidu’s petition to quash the FIR in the Skill Scam case.

The high court extended the stay vis-à-vis the hearing on the Prisoner Transit Warrant petition seeking custody of Naidu for questioning in the IRR scam, in the ant-corruption (ACB) court in Vijayawada till Nov 7.

Meanwhile, the ACB court said it would decide on when Naidu should be produced in the court after the AP CID said the Supreme Court has asked the prosecution counsel not to arrest him till Friday after adjourning the hearings on the Fibrenet case.

In another petition, the ACB court, in the call data records petition, asked counsels representing Naidu to make specific changes to their petition and refile it. The court asked them to ensure that the contents of the petition were in conformity with legal provisions.

The petition urged the court to direct the CID to furnish the records of call data of its officials before and after arresting Naidu on Sept 9. The CID had argued that the petition was not maintainable in the court.

In a separate quash petition, the AP high court adjourned the hearing to Dec 6 on a petition filed by Margadarsi Chit Funds Pvt Ltd (MCFPL) seeking to quash the FIR issued on the complaint lodged by Yuri Reddi. The court ordered the issuing of notices to the CID and Yuri Reddi to file their counters.

The ACB court adjourned to Oct 20 its decision on the prisoner transit warrant by the CID for Naidu’s custody in the Fibernet case.
