Under-trainee Sailors Block inaugurated at INS Vishwakarma

Arboriculture has been carried out in the building premises and water sprinklers provide water through rainwater harvesting tank.

Visakhapatnam: An under-trainee Sailors Block was inaugurated at INS Vishwakarma, Visakhapatnam by the chief of Eastern Naval Command (ENS) Vice-Admiral H.C.S. Bisht on Wednesday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Flag officers and personnel of the ENC. The newly constructed three-storey building named 'VISHAL' has all modern amenities such as spacious dining hall, state-of-art galley, recreation room, reading room and play area for the in-living Junior Sailors.

Complying with ‘green norms’, the building has been constructed using flyash bricks, has large glass windows to ensure natural light and has been designed to provide sufficient ventilation.

Arboriculture has been carried out in the building premises and water sprinklers provide water through rainwater harvesting tank. Solar water heaters for galley and wash spaces have also been provided to reduce consumption of electricity.

INS Vishwakarma is a training establishment of the Indian Navy for training Naval Constructor Officers, Shipwright Officers, Hull Artificers and Civilian Design staff (Construction Cadre).
