Hyderabad HC seeks AP, Telangana stand on a petition that sought removal of liquor shops within 100 metres of national and state highways.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday asked the state governments of AP and Telangana to spell out their stand on a petition that sought removal of liquor shops within 100 metres of national and state highways.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A. Shankar Narayana was dealing with a petition filed by Jana Chaitanaya Vedika seeking to declare that the definition as provided under Rule 2 (h) of The AP Excise (grant of licence) Rules, 2012 was contrary to the provisions of the AP Excise Act and National Highways Act, 1956.
