44 suspected terrorists held in J&K's Baramulla; LeT issues warning

Large quantity of material such as petrol bombs, Pakistan flags, LeT and JeM letter head pads was also seized.

Baramulla: At least 44 persons involved with terror related activities were apprehended by security forces after they conducted an extensive search operation in the wee hours of Monday, at several sensitive localities in Jammu and Kashmir.

After receiving a tip-off, a joint team of army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted search operation on the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday in localities including Qazi Hamam, Ganai Hamam, Taweed Gunj and Jamia.

Large quantity of incriminating material such as petrol bombs, Chinese and Pakistan flags, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad letter head pads, unauthorized mobile phones and seditious anti-national publicity material were seized during the raids.

In addition a large number of suspected hideouts were busted during the prolonged search operations.

Following the operation, the LeT issued a threat to the Baramulla SHO, said a report.

Later, the security forces sanitised the area searching over 700 houses in a span of 12 hours on Monday.
