Adilabad: Top forest officials and Adilabad forest staff are shocked over Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement in the Assembly during the ongoing budget sessions in support of MLA Koneru Konappa’s brother Koneru Krishna. He was accused in the villagers attacking FRO Chole Anitha in the infamous Sarasala incident that took place in Kagaznagar mandal in Kuamarambeem Asifabad district on June 30.
The Sarasala incident drew the nation’s attention and also the Supreme Court. It may be recalled here that the Forest Department gave a bravery award to Chole Anitha for protecting the forest lands from the encroachers. A senior forest officer of Kumarambheem Asifabad, on condition of anonymity, said the forest officials were now feeling that the CM’s statement in support of Koneru Krishna had defeated them morally and also defended their fight against encroa-chments of forest lands.
