Coimbatore: Iron string in tablet triggers residents’ anger

A group 100 local residents besieged a medical shop alleging that the iron string was found in a pain killer tablet bought from it.

Coimbatore: Mild tension prevailed for a while in Karumbukkadai area on Wednesday, as an iron string was found in a pain killer tablet bought from a local medical shop here.

A group 100 local residents besieged a medical shop alleging that the iron string was found in a pain killer tablet bought from it.

Mustafa (24), a merchant residing in Karumbukkadai, was suffering from tooth pain on Wednesday. He had gone to a nearby medical shop and bought a pain killer tablet. But as he was about to swallow the tablet, he was surprised to see a small iron sting projecting out of the tablet.

Immediately, Mustafa along with his friends and relatives besieged the medical shop alleging that fake medicines were being sold there. The shop owner in turn rang up the company that supplied the tablet, and raised a complaint about the iron string in the tablet. The 30-minute ghero came to an end after the shop owner pacified Mustafa, promising necessary legal action against the drug supplier.
