Hyderabad: Residents of the 120-villa Ramky Pearl at Kukatpally, have dragged project developer Ramky Constructions and Godavari Developers, who originally owned the land, to the Lokayukta.
The residents alleged that Godavari Developers had applied for revision of the 17-acre layout as it wanted to use the park land for construction.
The property owners took the help of survey maps to show how the developer intended to occupy park land and to this end had applied to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to revise the original layout.
A member of Ramky Pearl Residents’ Welfare Association said that in 2010 the GHMC had granted layout permission to Godavari Developers who owned the 17-acre land in survey numbers 143, 144, 145, 147, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155 and 156 in Kukatpally.
In the approved layout, 3,600 square metres on the west and 3,400 square metres on the east were earmarked for public parks. Recently, Godavari Developers applied to the GHMC for layout revision. “Their intention was to develop 2,000 sq metres out of the 3,600 sq m park to the west through misleading documents. The application was turned down twice by the GHMC,” the resident said. The GHMC has still not developed the park.
The residents moved the Lokayukta who ordered the GHMC Kukatpally B circle deputy commissioner to protect and develop the park.
“The park area is vacant now. The application for revision of layout was rejected twice by the GHMC. All that we need now is our green space, promised by the developers and builders,” said an association member.
The GHMC West Zone office received a similar complaint from a resident of Meenakshi Bamboos, a gated community in Madhapur. It was about the builder failing to provide civic amenities.
