SIGC donates sanitary napkins vending machine

Tiruchy: The Shrimathi Indira Gandhi College (SIGC) Tiruchy, organised an awareness programme on ‘Menstrual Hygiene Management’ at which a sanitary napkins vending machine and electrical incinerator was given to Govt Adi Dravidar girls higher secondary school, Kattur, here on Saturday.

In her presidential address, Dr K Meena, former vice-chancellor, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchy said that simplicity and pleasant behavior will lead to success. The students must know their responsibility in educating themselves along with care for personal hygiene.

The chief educational officer, Tiruchy, Ms. S. Shanthi dedicated the automatic sanitary napkins vending machine and the electrical incinerator donated by Shrimati Indira Gandhi College to the school. In her address, she emphasised that education and personal hygiene is very essential for the girl students.

Among others, R. Sivadoss, district Adi Dravidar welfare officer, Tiruchy, spoke at the programme. Dr S. Vidhyalakshmi, principal, SIGC, welcomed the gathering, while Dr N.B. Sumathi, headmistress of the Adi Dravidar girls higher secondary School, Kattur, proposed a vote of thanks.
