Rly pensioner hacked, body stored in buckets
In a brutal incident, an octogenarian, a retired railway loco pilot, was hacked to death at his home, the body chopped into pieces and stored in buckets at his house at Malkajgiri. The victim was identified as S. Maruti Kishan.
The police has taken custody of his wife Gaya and younger daughter Praful, who stay in the house, for questioning. A search is on for his younger son Kishan.
On Sunday evening, the Malkajgiri police received a call from the residents of RTC Colony about a foul smell coming from the house of one Maruti. A team of police rushed to the house and checked it.
The police found Gaya and Praful in the house along with six buckets full of chopped body parts. A Clues team and dog squad were immediately called to the spot and the house was thoroughly checked only to find five more buckets filled with body parts and blood.
Police surmise that the body is of Kishan.
Malkajgiri assistant commissioner of police G. Sundeep said: “The body parts appear to be human remains. On questioning, Maruti’s wife and daughter said that on the night of August 16, Kishan quarrelled with his father and killed him. He then chopped the body using a knife and stuffed the body parts in buckets before fleeing.”
Responding to a query, the ACP told mediapersons that Maruti’s wife and daughter claimed that they were panicked about the incident and did not reveal about the murder to anyone. A search is on to trace Kishan, an unemployed, who is absconding. However, questioning of the wife and daughter of the deceased is continuing to find about their involvement, he said.
Maruti and Gaya had two sons and two daughters. Their elder son went missing when he was a child and the elder daughter is married and lives in East Marredpally.
