Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday has taken up a major footpath encroachment removal programme from Khairatabad to SR Nagar and removed 412 encroachments.
The six enforcement and vigilance teams split into three have removed permanent/semi-permanent and 422 movable encroachments. Each team is consisted of 20 officials and they are equipped with JCBs and vehicles for debris removal.
With the sixth drive the corporation has removed more than 10,000 footpath encroachments across the city.
The drive has been conducted in co-ordination with the traffic and law and order police officials. The corporation has removed 4,669 during the first drive and managed to remove as many as 10,237 encroachments with the sixth drive.
