Provide amenities: GHMC to Lodha Healthy Constructions

The controversy surrounding the Mumbai-based multi-crore real estate developers took a turn on Friday.

Hyderabad: The GHMC has asked Lodha Healthy Constructions and Developers Pvt Ltd to provide the amenities promised to the residents of Lodha Meridian and submit a report regarding the same with ten days, or risk having the sale of its properties at Lodha Meridian terminated.

The controversy surrounding the Mumbai-based multi-crore real estate developers took a turn on Friday. Until August 17, the residents of Lodha Bellezza had been at loggerheads with the residents of Lodha Meridian. However, on Friday, both parties joined up against the Lodha Group.

A fact-finding meeting was held at the GHMC chambers on Friday, where the residents of Lodha Bellezza and Lodha Meridian and the builders were invited to address the issue. The meeting was headed by GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy. Representatives of the residents’ associations presented their case.

The representative for Lodha Meridian said, “The residents have not been allocated parking space so far, despite it being included in the agreement. The Meridian venture does not have the amenities that were promised. The builder used GST as a guise to ask flat owners to register their properties in June itself, saying that the prices would increase later. Many people rushed to register their properties without taking notice of the absence of amenities. They were not informed of the chain link fence between Meridian and Bellezza. The builder needs to act on these issues.”

P. Pavan argued on behalf of the Bellezza Residents’ Association. He said, “Lodha started its first venture in Hyderabad in 2009. Sanction for the original plan was awarded in 2010. As per the law, the GHMC and the builder are required to obtain the consent of the co-owners of Belleza while issuing permits for the construction of a second venture. Lodha Bellezza was approved as a single unit, how did the area become demarcated for another venture? Since 2013 the residents have raised this issue with the GHMC in different formats, asking them to stall the construction of Meridian. After much effort, the construction was stopped. However, the builder was able to clear the stay and complete the project.
