Foundation day of NSTL celebrated

Director NSTL detailed the various achievements of the Lab over the past year, and also the progress on the innovative technologies.

Visakhapatnam: Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) celebrated its 48th Foundation Day (Lab Raising Day) on Friday.

Established in August 20, 1969, NSTL has grown multifold and has made significant contributions to Defence R&D and is recognized as one of the premier labs of DRDO engaged in the development of underwater weapons and systems. Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, was the Chief Guest at the celebrations organized at Manasi Auditorium, NSTL.

Speaking on the occasion, he commended NSTL for their achievements and expressed hope for greater synergy between NSTL and Indian Navy towards equipping the Navy with best quality weapons and associated systems/ technologies.

Dr O.R. Nandagopan, Outstanding Scientist and Director NSTL recalled the stellar contributions of scientists, officers and staff in making NSTL what it is today. Director NSTL detailed the various achievements of the Lab over the past year, and also the progress on the innovative technologies to meet futuristic requirements.
