Follow Supreme Court order on police transfers: Karnataka HC
The PIL said that Section 20 B of the Karnataka Police Act, which is mandatory, is being flouted during the transfer process.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka HC on Friday ordered the state to direct the Police Establishment Board (PEB) to effect transfers of police officers in keeping with Supreme Court orders in the Prakash Singh case.
The court passed the directions while disposing of a PIL by V. Shashidhar, filed mainly on the ground that despite directions from the Supreme and the High Court and contrary to the amended Karnataka Police, the CM and other ministers, MLAs and MPs are issuing letters in favour of transfers.
The PIL said that Section 20 B of the Karnataka Police Act, which is mandatory, is being flouted during the transfer process. Recommendations must begin from the PEB.

‘Give representation to CS’
Geetha Misra and others who filed a petition against alleging cutting of trees in have been directed to give a detailed representation to the Chief Secretary, who will decide the matter as per law. The PIL was filed questioning felling of trees at the BDA land at Rajajinagar 3rd Block.
