Kozhikode: Carnival to promote cycling

Kozhikode: Transport minister A. K. Saseendran will inaugurate the bicycle carnival on Friday at 2 pm as part of the Cycle Brigade Project. The carnival runs from July 19 to July

26. District panchayat president Babu Parassery will preside over the function which would be held at GHSS, Karaparamba. MLA A. Pradeep Kumar will be the chief guest.

The programme is organised in collaboration with District Education Department, Kerala Maritime Board, Higher Secondary Section NSS, Haritha Kerala Mission, DTPC, NCC,

District Responsible Tourism Mission, District Sports Council, Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society, and other private institutions. The minister will also inaugurate the

Bicycle Smile Charity project organized by the Kozhikode District Higher Secondary wing of NSS to provide financial assistance to the financially disadvantaged students who

dream of owning a bicycle and also undertake the flag-off of Green Express, which will be launched in collaboration with the Green Scheme of Kerala and the Kerala Scrap

The carnival is being organized as part of the Bicycle Brigade under the aegis of the District Panchayat and the Green Care Mission Grand Cycle Challenge in association with

various organizations and institutions. Various events such as the E-bicycle expo, bicycle clinic, bicycle café, decathlon experience, and bicycle auction will be held.
