Rs 309 crore set aside for good roads in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to take up the road restoration works on a war footing. The state government has accorded administrative sanction of Rs 309.79 crore for road repairs works under periodical preventive maintenance and complete them by October. Besides this, the corporation and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation will also construct 309.76 km footpath at an estimated cost of Rs 87.71 crore.
The GHMC has taken up restoration works on roads which have damaged due to recent rainfall. The footpaths in cement concrete white topping works have been sanctioned under Periodical Preventive Maint-enance where total 48,952 metres for which Rs 916.78 lakh has been sanctioned in Uppal, Santosh Nagar, Falak-numa, Jubilee Hills, Yousufguda, Quthbullapur, Secunderabad, Begumpet and will be completed by October 31.
The works pertaining to footpaths in BT Roads sanctioned under PPM for which Rs 1503.64 lakh sanctioned for 70,970 kilometre in Uppal, Malakpet, SantoshNagar, Chandra-yangutta, Charminar, Falaknuma, Rajendranagar Circles and the works will be completed by October 15. The corporation will lay 157.53 km at a cost of Rs 29.64 crore and Hyderabad Road Development Corpor-ation will construct 152.23 kms footpath for which Rs 58.07 crore had been sanctioned.
