Sasikala VIP treatment: OPS camp claims it was Dr G Parameshwar's doing

AIADMK Karnataka Youth Wing secretary, charged that Dr Parameshwar was hand in glove with prison officials.

Bengaluru: Muddying the waters further on the raging issue of cash for perks at Parappana Agrahara jail for the incarcerated AIADMK leader V. Sasikala, a little known section of leaders belonging to AIADMK's (OPS) camp led by Anbukumar on Tuesday came down heavily on KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwar accusing that the latter of facilitating Saisikala Natarajan's luxurious stay at Bengaluru prison. This was strongly denied by the former home minister, who dismissed it as a "pack of lies." Speaking to reporters here, Mr R. Anbuvel, AIADMK Karnataka Youth Wing secretary, charged that Dr Parameshwar was hand in glove with prison officials in providing better facilities to Sasikala Natarajan. "There is prima-facie evidence for this charge is that AIADMK Karnataka unit secretary V. Pugazhenthi is always seen with former home minister, Dr G. Parameshwar.

About Mr Pugazhenthi it is said that if he is not found at his home, he will be very much be with Dr Parameshwar, that is the closeness he shares with former Home minister. We suspect that Mr Pugazhenthi's closeness to Dr Parameshwar helped Sasikala to get what she wanted in prison," he charged. However, reacting sharply to these allegations, KPCC chief, Dr Parameshwar said, "These are baseless allegations. As long as I was Home Minister of this state, Prison officials have acted based on the prison manual. I neither interfered in their work nor influenced in manner. In any case, a detailed probe is ordered by Chief Minister Siddarmaiah on the entire episode, I hope that finally truth and justice will prevail upon everything else."
