They took a train from Hyderabad railway station and reached Varanasi.

Hyderabad: Three adult members of a family from the city were killed while five children sustained injuries in a road accident at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. According to the relatives of the victims, Nutaan Bai, Padma Bai and Vikas Singh, residents of Dhoolpet in the city, had left for a pilgrimage along with five children on Saturday.

They took a train from Hyderabad railway station and reached Varanasi. The family visited Kashivishwanath temple and visited two more holy places there. On Tuesday morning, they hired a Tata Sumo vehicle to go to Ayodhya temple. The vehicle was hit by a DCM lorry at Sultanpur.

“Vikas, Padma Bai and Nutaan Bai who were sitting in the front and second seat sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The five children who were sitting in the rear seat of the vehicle sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at a hospital there,” said Arvind Singh, a relative of the victims.

The Sultanpur police also corroborated the accident theory and said that the driver of the DCM van was in an inebriated state. The bodies are expected to arrive in the city on Wednesday.
