Hyderabad: Even while techies are finding it difficult to come to grips with retrenchment in IT sector, their family members are also coming out in the open to pour out their woes.
The wife of a retrenched techie from Pune shot a video on the present crisis and posted it online and the video has gone viral on WhatsApp groups.
In the video, she posed questions to IT managements as to why techies at junior and mid-level, who actually are a firm’s assets and lifeline, are being targeted for the challenges the industry is facing at present.
“It is very well known that seniors holding top positions are the ones who get salary packages that run into crores of rupees in some cases. If the company has to go for cost optimisation, then seniors should be in the firing line but not the ones at the bottom of the pyramid,” she said.
The techie’s wife further stated that it was very difficult and painful for software professionals to become jobless all of a sudden.
Remember techies have families to take care of and children who are into studies besides other needy expenses, she stressed.
The reasons given out by the companies for job removal are not justified, the woman said, appealing to all affected techies to join hands and speak in unison so that IT firms understand their situation.
