Hyderabad: Depressed after failing in examination, an engineering student committed suicide in Jagathgirigutta on Tuesday. Police said Sravana Kumari hanged herself in her home.
According to Police, Sravana Kumari, a resident of Maisammanagar in Jagath girigutta police station limits, is studying Engineering II year in Brilliant Engineering College in Abdullapurmet. She failed in a couple of subjects in the last semester, due to which she was depressed.
On Tuesday she was alone at home after her parents left for work. In the afternoon, when her father Krishna returned home from work, he found her hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom. He brought her down and shifted her to hospital, but the doctors declared her dead.
Based on a complaint from her father, police have registered a suspicious death case and handed over the body to Sravana’s family after postmortem.
