No stay on lift irrigation scheme: Hyderabad High Court

The bench said it will hear the PIL along with the review petition.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday refused to stay the process of selection of the contractor for the Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift irrigation scheme.

A division bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice A.V. Sesha Sai, was hearing a fresh PIL moved by former minister and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy seeking cancellation of the tenders for the scheme.

When the PIL came up for hearing, TS AG K. Ramakrishna Reddy brought to the notice of the bench that the petitioner had earlier filed a PIL against the tenders for the scheme which was dismissed by the bench. He then moved a review petition that was pending before the bench and again filed another PIL. The bench said it will hear the PIL along with the review petition.
