Karnataka DySp suicide: BJP meets Governor, pleads for CBI probe
Bengaluru: A Bharatiya Janata Party delegation led by party state unit president B.S.Yeddyurappa met Governor Vajubhai Vala here on Monday and requested him to prevail on the state government to refer the M.K. Ganapati suicide case to the CBI.
In a memorandum submitted to the governor, the party said there was a general feeling among the public that the government was trying to hide something and shield someone.
The judicial enquiry ordered by the Chief Minister is meaningless as he has already given a clean chit to three persons named by Ganapati in his interview to a TV channel, the memorandum said.
Claiming that there was something fishy in the entire episode, the party said the local police did not inform the family or Pavana, wife of the deceased Deputy Superintendent of Police, immediately after the suicide.
Before they did this, they met Ganapati’s father Kushalappa and obtained a statement from him that “ family discord could be the reason for Ganapati committing suicide,” the party pointed out.
BJP plans ‘Abhiyana’
The state BJP has decided to make the suicide case of DySP M.K. Ganapati a big issue by organising ‘Jana Sangarsha Abhiyana’ from July 22. The ‘Abhiyana’ will start from Kodagu and will culminate on August 8 in Bengaluru. Prior to this, the party will organize mega rallies in all district headquarters of the state.
