Uttam Kumar Reddy, first ex-fighter pilot, takes oath as MP
Hyderabad: TPCC president and MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said he would be fighting for the rights of the with the Centre. Making the Centre fulfil the promises made to the state in the AP Reorganisation Act was the primary objective followed by seeking due share for Telangana state in all the Central schemes.
He vowed to get special incentives and funds for Nalgonda constituency, which he represents, under various schemes. Mr Reddy took the oath as an MP in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday and he concluded by saying “Jai Telangana”.
He is probably the first-ever fighter pilot of the IAF to enter Parliament. Rajesh Pilot and Mr Suresh Kalmadi, both came from the IAF and became MPs but they were transport pilots. Mr Reddy flew fighter aircraft while he was in the IAF.
Mr Reddy condemned the arrest of party leader V. Hanumantha Rao and expressed anger that cases were registered against him for trying to instal an Ambedkar statue.
