KCR: I first criticised Modi

He said the Opposition should maintain restrain as the people had given the TRS the mandate.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ridiculed the Opposition for criticising the invitation to AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram project.

He said the Opposition should maintain restrain as the people had given the TRS the mandate.

He said Mr Reddy and Maharashtra Chief Min-ister Devendra Fadnavis would be chief guests and that he would inaugurate the “world’s biggest multi-stage lift irrigation project” on June 21 at Medigadda in the presence of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.

Replying a question on his skipping the Niti Aayog meeting, he said no harm was caused.

He said the TRS stood by its policy of extending issue-based support to the BJP government at the Centre, Mr Rao said, “We are not part of the NDA. I was the first Chief Minister who strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi terming him as a fascist when the Centre took away seven mandals.”

He said that people were laughing at minister of state for home G. Kishan Reddy for his remarks against Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister said that in last five years of TRS rule there was not a single communal incident in the city nor had there been curfew for a minute. “How would a Central minister make such nasty and mindless remarks,” Mr Rao asked.
