Wayanad: The carcass of an elephant was found at a plantain farm at Pukalamalam near Chethalayam outside the Wayanad Wildl-ife Sanctuary near Sulthan Bathery, he-re, on Tuesday. The forest team headed by Wayanad Wildlife Warden P.K. Asif visited the spot and examined the carcass. The tusker, of about 25 years of age, might have got trapped in slush while crossing the plantain farm, according to wildlife experts.
The forest team took over the body. The postmortem would be conducted on Wednesday to identify the exact reason of death.
