Hyderabad: A man who stole Rs 14 lakh from the house of his lover was arrested by the Saroornagar police on Tuesday. The police recovered Rs 13.5 lakh in cash and a phone from him and produced him in court.
According to the Saroornagar police, B. Srinivas, 34, a native of Siddipet district, had migrated to the city a few years ago in search of work after returning from Dubai. He did odd jobs in Dubai and after getting married, returned to India.
He was in a relationship with a woman living at Karmanghat. In the third week of May, the woman went to her native place along with her daughter as the girl was not keeping well.
She returned on May 25 only to find Srinivas missing along with Rs 14 lakh cash which she had kept in a cupboard.
Based on her complaint, Srinivas was traced to Pongudu village in Suryapet district and Rs 13.5 lakh and a mobile phone were recovered from him. He was remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday.
