Hyderabad: Former deputy chief minister and Telangana Congress senior leader Damodar Rajanarasimha told the media on Tuesday that by not attending the Niti Aayog meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had signalled that there was some distance between the BJP and the TRS.
The BJP too has sent out a signal by allotting the home portfolio to BJP MP G. Kishan Reddy from Telangana state.
Mr Rajanarasimha said the Reddys from Rayalaseema had become successful in politics, and the Reddys from the Telangana region should analyse why this is so.
He said that whoever becomes the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president should learn the lessons of success from AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that the Telangana Congress had failed because it treated the TRS as a friendly party for 10 years.
Mr Rajanarasimha alleged that there are many well-wishers of the TRS in the Congress ranks. The fact that 12 Congress MLAs were admitted into the TRS shows what a threat the party will be in the future....
