Four Telugu students bag top AIIMS ranks

Punjab students Eliza Bansal and Ramneek Kaur Mahal bagged the first two ranks.

Hyderabad: Four Telugu students have secured top ranks in the reserved categories in the entrance test for MBBS course at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences. P. Namrata secured AIR Rank 4 in the SC category, L. Harshavardhan AIR 5 in ST category, V. Ravi Kiran AIR 6 from OBC category and K. Akhil AIR 7 in ST category.

Punjab students Eliza Bansal and Ramneek Kaur Mahal bagged the first two ranks, and Mehak Arora of Haryana took the third rank. As many as 2,649 candidates qualified for the first round of centralised counselling. A total of 807 seats would be filled for MBBS at the nine AIIMS campuses spread across India.
Sri Chaitanya Junior College said its students bagged 26 ranks below 100 in the All-India all category and reservation category.

The cut-off percentile was 98.83 per cent for the general category, 97.01 per cent for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 93.65 per cent for SC/ST category. The merit list is prepared on the basis of the overall percentile score. The total numbers of eligible candidates is four times the seats advertised in each category. Candidates can exercise their choices through online counselling process as per their rank AIIMS New Delhi has initiated the process for seat allocation and online counselling for admission to MBBS in AIIMS New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Mangalagiri (Guntur,) and Nagpur.
