Srinagar: School apologises for sacking teacher who wore Abaya
Srinagar: The management of a private school, which had sacked a teacher for wearing Abaya (a long cloak), on Sunday tendered an apology in Srinagar for "unintentionally" hurting the sentiments of people.
"Delhi Public School Srinagar Management apologises for unintentionally hurting the sentiments of people," the institute said in a one-line statement.

The school had come under fire for not allowing a woman teacher to wear Abaya to class and allegedly asked her to choose between her job and the dress.
The incident led to protests by the students of the school and widespread outcry against the school as it was seen as interference in religious matters of the people.
