Salaries of part-time teachers, JLs, PGTs, TGTs, PETs raised in AP

Vijayawada: Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has announced a hike in the salaries of part-time teachers working in SC Gurukuls across Andhra Pradesh. Wages of PETs and health supervisors have also been increased.

The minister explained on Friday that the board of governors of Gurukuls discussed the matter at their meeting and decided to increase the salaries of junior lecturers, PGTs, TGTs, PETs and health supervisors working in BR Ambedkar SC Residential Schools across the state. Orders have been issued to this effect, he said.

The salary of Junior Lecturers (JLs) was raised from₹18000 to ₹24,150. The salary of post graduate teachers (PGTs) was raised from₹16,100 to ₹24,150. The salary of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) has been raised from ₹14,800 to ₹19,350.

The salary of exercise teachers (PETs) has been increased from ₹10,900 to ₹16,350, while the salary of health supervisors and staff nurses raised from ₹12,900 to ₹19,350.

The minister said this was the first time after 2019 that the wages of part-time teachers and other staff were increased. With this, 1791 part-time teachers along with other staff have benefited.

Teachers and JAC leaders of teachers and other AP social welfare residential educational institutions society employees expressed their gratitude to the minister and the government.

JAC chairman Nagabhushanam said, “The minister did justice to the employees and teachers as soon as they made a request. Ge was urged to effect an increase in the salaries of PGTs and TGTs on par with BC welfare teachers."
